Learning about the world of work thanks to Shannon Technical Services (STS)

6th class pupils and staff from the school recently visited Shannon Technical Services (STS) for a very special event.  The pupils got a tour of the facility and learned about the important work done by STS.  We met a number of past pupils and parents who explained the work they do.  After the tour, we were treated to a lovely lunch and got photographs taken with the Liam McCarthy Cup as well.  Then it was on to the meeting room where four generous staff members spend over an hour answering questions about their school choices, careers, hobbies and work.  The questions were very interesting as were the answers from the four panellists.  It was a great insight into how hard work and determination can help you get on in life, no matter what you are doing.  To conclude, the pupils were presented with goodie bags by the STS staff.  We are delighted that the link between St. Conaire’s and Shannon Technical Services is going from strength to strength.  We are grateful to Ben and his team at STS for their time, support and encouragment.  Go raibh míle maith agaibh!
