Tree Planting Success with Shannon Technical Services, November 13 2024
St. Conaire’s was delighted to welcome our friends from Shannon Technical Services (STS) to assist us in planting the native Irish trees for our An Choill Bheag project. The day was cold and foggy but Mr. McNamara’s and Múinteoir Irene/Siobhán class took to the work very well. Guided by Niamh and Rachel from LEAF (Learning About Forests), the children and friends from STS planted over 170 mixed native species on ground near our ASD class. The aim of this project is to create a small native biodiverse woodland area which can be used as an outdoor classroom. The children will be putting in mulch on the next day Niamh and Rachel visit.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to Shannon Technical Services (STS) for their great help in getting our little woodland area planted. We were also delighted to welcome a number of our past pupils who now work with Shannon Techncial Services. STS have been a great supporter of St. Conaire’s in some many different ways and we hope this woodland area will be long-lasting legacy well into the future. Ní neart go cur le chéile! Go raibh míle maith agaibh!
